Meet the Board

The Board & Management

Management of the Choir’s yearly concert programmes requires experienced and efficient governance, talented musical direction and training and efficient administration.

The Choir appointed a Board of Management in 2006 whose responsibility is governance, strategic planning, financial management and seeking sources of outside funding.  A part-time Administrator provides administrative support for the Board and Choir, and day-to-day management is handled by an elected committee of Choir members.

The Board’s longterm objective is to increase audience numbers and broaden Orpheus’ support base in order to increase public awareness and enjoyment of choral music, and consequently to strengthen Orpheus’ financial position and ongoing viability. Creatively we want to continue to deliver to Wellington audiences challenging and interesting contemporary works, as well as popular ‘classics.’
