Join the Choir

The choir numbers around a hundred singers at present, but we are able to increase this to 150 by invitation for the really big works.

We rehearse in Thorndon School Hall on Tuesday nights from 7.30 - 9.30pm. A rehearsal schedule is published for each up-coming concert, which indicates the required number of regular practices as well as the specific rehearsals which are compulsory for concert performance.

We hold auditions regularly every two years and at other times by arrangement.

As well as concerts mounted by Orpheus, we also sing in engagements and partner events (Vector Wellington Orchestra, NZSO and the International Arts Festival, for example) and provide small groups for corporate or private functions and for television or film work.
