"But the choir is the thing in the B minor Mass, and here the Orpheus covered itself with glory."

Please note that the date for "Cloudburst" has changed to 24 June 2009. That means the compulsory rehearsals have also been changed. I have updated the rehearsal schedule so please check. The reason for the change, if you don't already know, is that Bryn Terfel is now scheduled to perform in Wellington on 17 June. This was only announced earlier this year when we had already decided our schedule. Much as would like to, we probably can't compete with Bryn.
And a couple of things about our webpages. Notes from each Board meeting are now on under Choir notices - Orpheus Board papers. This will give you an idea of what goes on at the board and the decisions that are being made. Dates of future board meeting will be added soon.
Secondly have a look at the Forum page and add your topics and comments. I've posted a topic on feedback from the concert. The Forum page is an easy way to comment and respond to comments.

A reminder that there is a rehearsal this Tuesday 7 April. We will be starting our pieces for the next concert "Cloudburst" - now on at 7.30pm on Wednesday 24 June in the cathedral. The concert will feature works by current American composers, including Morten Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna and Eric Whitacre's Cloudburst and Three Songs of Faith. To hear some of the works and learn more about the composers have a look at the Cloudburst Notes section.
I have also updated the rehearsal schedule to take account of the new date.
Please remember to return your Bach on Tuesday with markings rubbed out. If you won't be at rehearsal please contact our librarian Monika Smith - smithmo@paradise.net.nz - to make other arrangements.
From now on I'll be mostly using the website for notices rather than sending out emails - though I will be sending out a reminder email to some specific members shortly re the Ecce Cor Meum CD.
And finally a word about St John Passion - thank you to everyone for such a spendid concert. I have been receiving very positive feedback from members and concert goers alike. I would love any feedback from you about any aspect of the concert - what worked, what didn't , what we can do better next time. Just email them to me
Thanks
Cath
