Ecce Cor Meum – Sir Paul McCartney, presented by Spicers

This is not to be missed. Orpheus' end-of year concert is the Australasian première of Sir Paul McCartney's major new oratorio Ecce Cor Meum (‘Behold My Heart’).

Reviews have referred to the ‘poetic beauty of the arrangement’ and ‘powerfully moving emotional core that speaks not only to the sorrow that currently pervades the world, but also the hope that love and peace will conquer all’. Ecce Cor Meum is described in the Sunday Express as a ‘profoundly moving work’, and ‘a triumph’. Sir Paul’s innate musicianship and talent for lovely melodic lines are conveyed in this impassioned oratorio, which moves from grief and longing to life-affirming joy. Madeleine Pierard will sing with us and the children’s chorus will be sung by the Choristers of Wellington Cathedral of St Paul. We will be joined by Vector Wellington Orchestra for this stunning end to our 2008 concert season.
